Small Stones. A Lasting Connection.
At Joseph’s celebration of life, his parents shared painted rocks for family and friends to take on their travels and leave for others to discover.
Each Courage Stone is a way to carry forward his kindness, creativity, and adventurous spirit. Wherever these stones go, they offer a chance to share Joe’s story, raise awareness of pediatric brain cancer, and remind someone that a little courage can turn up in an unexpected place.
An unexpected connection
Found a Courage Stone?
We’re glad it found you.
This stone was painted in memory of Joseph, known as Joe to those who loved him. We hope it brings a smile, a moment of encouragement, or a little courage when you need it most.
Keep it close for a while, or take it on your next adventure and leave it for someone else to find.
Wherever it travels, it carries a little of Joe’s spirit with it.
Paint a stone.
Pass along some courage.
You don’t have to have known Joe to help carry his kindness forward.
Paint something that makes you smile.
Use acrylic paint to create a favorite character, a colorful design, or a few encouraging words. There’s no right or wrong way.
Protect your artwork.
Let the paint dry, then apply a sealer suitable for painted rocks.
Send it on an adventure.
Choose a safe place where leaving a stone is welcome, and let someone else discover a little unexpected encouragement.
